Where 3012 does business together
THINK LOCAL
West 3012 Business Association connects street traders, home businesses and larger enterprises across five suburbs. Whether you're running a market stall, a business from your kitchen table, or a warehouse on the industrial fringe, there's a place for you here.
Our Neighbourhood
The 3012 postcode is home to a genuinely diverse range of businesses. The Barkly Street precinct in West Footscray has a lively mix of independent retail and hospitality. Kingsville is home to a growing number of creative and service businesses, many run from home. Brooklyn and Tottenham house some of the most significant industrial and logistics operations in Melbourne's inner west. Maidstone is a growing community with emerging small business activity. We believe all of these communities are stronger when they work together.
WHAT WE DO
We're the voice of business in the 3012 postcode. That covers a remarkably diverse patch of Melbourne's inner west, from the cafes and shops of West Footscray to the home studios of Kingsville, the light industry of Brooklyn and Tottenham, and the growing residential community of Maidstone.
We bring all of it together.
Our work includes advocating to local and state government on behalf of members, running events that connect businesses and customers, supporting new and emerging traders, and making sure every kind of enterprise in 3012 has a seat at the table.
Our work Falls across four key areas:
Speaking up for 3012 businesses
When parking becomes impossible on Barkly Street, when a planning application threatens the character of the precinct, or when road works cut off access to an industrial estate, individual businesses often feel powerless. We change that. West 3012 BA engages directly with the City of Maribyrnong and state government on the practical issues that affect your day-to-day trading, making sure the full range of 3012 businesses has a seat at the table.
Helping businesses grow and adapt
A strong local economy depends on businesses being able to start up, find their feet, and keep going when things get tough. We provide practical resources and connections to help members at every stage, from someone launching a home-based business for the first time to an established trader navigating a difficult year.
Putting 3012 on the map
This postcode has a lot going for it, and we want more people to know about it. We run campaigns and events that draw residents and visitors to local businesses, build the reputation of the area as somewhere worth coming to, and give member businesses a platform to reach new customers across the inner west and beyond.
Connecting businesses
One of the things that makes 3012 unusual is how different its businesses are from each other. A home-based graphic designer in Kingsville and a logistics company in Brooklyn don't often cross paths. We create the conditions for that to change, through networking events, introductions, and a shared directory that makes it easier for members to find and support each other.
